(More customer reviews)I just received my new shelter and haven't set it up on ice yet.We had high wind warnings here with gust up to 45 MPH, so I set my new shelter up in an open lot.I was very pleased with how well it handled in the wind and with how well it handled the wind.It seems to be well constructed and roomy enought for someone of my size (6'4" @ 225lbs.) I can't wait to get it out on the ice.

Black Diamond Bipod Bivy Bag Review

(More customer reviews)For side sleepers like me, the Bi-Pod Bivy is way too tight in both the hip and shoulder areas. Also, I use the Therma-Rest NeoAir mattress which when fully inflated takes-up three inches in height.

I have reordered and have received the heavier but far more spacious Tri-Pod Bivy. Its size is just right for me.

The quality of both models is excellent.

I have two complaints with both models. First, the zip-up opening is much too small. The opening should have at least one more foot to facilitate entry into the bivy. Second, I don't understand why the outer seams don't come pre-sealed from the factory. Instead you are sent a tube of sealer and a syringe and must seal it yourself.

It is light! 1 lbs. 7oz.Lots of room inside.I easily put my Therma-a-Rest GuideLite Full pad and Reg. Size Mummy Bag inside the sack.There is a lot of head room for all your clothes.I could stretch out my arms above my head inside the bivy, (I'm 5'11")

Maybe not best for winter weather camping.I used this bivy sack over the weekend camping out.The temperature dipped down around 10 degree Fahrenheit and a lot of condensation built up on my bag.The first night I slept with it totally zipped up.The second night I left my face out so that I wouldn't breathe on my down sleeping bag.Both nights my sleeping bag was damp.I am uncertain if it was just too cold to for the fabricate to breathe.I think it will work find in warmer weather.

There are four ultralight straight tent stakes to hold each corner in place.But in the future I will swap out the stakes with Sheppard's hook type of stake later.

I am eager to use this in spring to see how it does.

SO WE TRIED TO SET UP ON MY DECK AND THE NONE CORDED POLES KEPT ON FALLING AND DOING A LOT OF DAMAGE. AFTER A HOUR OF THE POLES FALLING I CALLED THE COMPANY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE RIGHT AWAY SAID I MUST OF USED THE CANOPY AND JUST TRYING TO RETURN IT NOW. The water comes right through.Also, if any water gets on it, the whole thing will collapse, snapping the weak bars, and puncturing the tent and screening on the way down. Not worth the price.

I recently purchased this heater and have taken it with me camping twice.It is small and very efficent and seems safer and steadier than those little heaters attached to 16 oz propane cylinders that can sometimes tip over.Other campers saw it in operation and are going to order one.The butane cylinders are available in most sporting goods stores(Big Five, etc.) and even in my small town grocery store.They are not hard to find and are quite inexpensive, less than $1.50 each.This a great little heater.

(More customer reviews)I just bought this 4-person summer tent at Target to replace a dome tent whose fiberglass pole was shattered in high winds in the Black Hills, and after pitching it in the backyard, I'll return it.

On the plus side, it's easy to pitch, it has aluminum poles, and the size is fine ... very good for two people.But there's only one D-shaped door on the side, and the other side is just a wall.Two doors would be better.Also, there are no windows, so you can't see out.The clincher, though, in my opinion, is that the ventilation is inadequate.At a minimum, the mesh screening should permit some air to circulate, and except on the door side, all the mesh is too far up toward the ceiling.If you leave this tent up on a summer day, it will be an oven in there.And if you use it in cold weather, condensation is likely to be a big problem.

Two doors with a window or two, together with some facility for cross ventilation would solve the problems, but I'm going to shop for another tent.

(More customer reviews)I received the footprint today and was disappointed in the material which is the same as the tent.It does have multiple ways to tie down the footprint, but for the price, it does not deliver the value.I found other footprints made of heavier material at 20% of the cost.The light weight might be an advantage for backpackers.Also there are no instructions as to how the mulitple tie-downs could be used with the tent.The one other advantage is that it fits the footprint of the tent unlike other generic footprints. If I had the oportunity for a do-over, I would not make this purchase.

First day was VERY windy.If we had a tail, I think we could have flown it as a kite.I consider it a success that the cabana didn't rip apart.

Our second adventure worked much better.Still windy, but not as bad as the first day.Filled the pockets with sand, (and buried them in sand as well)Worked great and it was nice to have a place to keep all the beach toys and get out of the sun and wind occasionally.

It is a decent tent for the price but it won't last too long. Most 4 season tent are $400+ this one only cost $150 but is not as good of quality.I guess you get what you pay for.

Quictent New 10'x 20' Ez Pop up Green Party Tent Canopy Gazebo with Sidewalls Review

(More customer reviews)I'm a pretty handy guy and was able to quickly figure out the logic of the canopy design, finding it relatively easy to set up.The technique requires a slow 'massaging' the accordion frame outward one leg at a time, then a rigorous 'pulling' of the verticals into the lock snaps (making sure to turn the ring into lock position first).Once the frame was fully extended and locked, tossing the fabric over the frame and raising the legs (in slow stage, one at a time and one side at a time, I was able to get this canopy set it up all by myself (but it took a bit of time).The sidewalls took a bit of jockeying to get right, the velcro strips are a bit short, but inching the legs back or forth made the tight walls fit in the frame.I was strongly recommend purchasing 6 good ground stakes, because those are 'not' included, although the tie lines are included (?).The leg stakes were a bit "thin", but I easily bent them into a "staple shape" to bite into the ground better.

The issues... The carrying bag was so thin, compared to the heavy metal canopy frame, that the bag 'tore to bits' when I used the carrying handles, this could be a lot more sturdier.The company had a replacement shipped quickly and painlessly.The clear sidewall windows could use a redesign, it would be much better for ventilation and privacy if these were velcro attachments, it can heat up pretty quick in the fully built canopy.May I suggest the standard clear plastic window and an optional insect guard that can velcro into place, I just may retrofit this myself.The tie down lines attach to the canopy fabric, but there is no interior tie down to anchor the frame, there is no interior anchor ring and the frame is not made for this type of storm proofing.The sidewalls can use more velcro tie down straps on each panel, just to make it more solid, and, the bottoms could use something to keep it down on the windy night.I would also take care to not put "awkward" weight or stress on the frame, it has weak spots.I do have a small "mosquito fan" hanging from the middle cross bar (an old trick used to chop up flying bugs), but keep the kids off of it...

By in large, this canopy was an good purchase at the price.

HOWEVER, if you find yourself with less than $100 in your pocket and you're going to be sleeping outside in the rain with all your meager possessions, you might want to pick this up.
