(More customer reviews)Firstly i should mention that I haven't tried the tent in action, however my experience tells me that the tent will do ok in any weather condition except for high-altitude snowstorms which the tend is not destined for.
now the pros and cons
pros:
1. the tent is roomy. even 4 people may sleep in it in emergency. Although the foot part of the tent is narrower than the head part, therefore occupants' feet will be placed tightly in this part and inevitebly touch one another.
2. The tent has a good rainfly and a good bottom so it will be waterproof. I've owned more than 5 tents and I know what I'm talking about.
3. it seems durable which is very important for effective use of this tent. in backcountry u cannot be always careful with the tent, especially in mountains or when u set up tent at night...
4. aluminium poles are very nice
cons:
1. the tent is too big. i needed something more compact. it is very high for me... if i needed that much comfort i wouldn't go hiking/mountaineering. it's not that i seek discomfort... but such a big tent will cause issues in wind notwithstanding the alimunium poles. I know that it will.. it will be hard to retain rainfly in strong winds.... were the tent a little bit lower the problem would have been removed probably...
2. i think dome type two poles tent is better than this one... three poles tent is too heavy... also the big size of tent adds its lbs-s. it will not be easy to carry such tent
3. it won't be easy to place this tent anywhere u like.. u will have to find a place with enough area to set the tent up on it.
all in all, this tent is not bad. however i wouldn't take it on mountaineering or on 50-miles hiking tour where terrain might be rocky or inclined without enough flat area.... that's why i gave 4 stars instead of 5...
i'll update when i try the tent out in backcountry.
